Program

The School of Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada offers an intensive program of classes in traditional dance and drum. Taught by an outstanding, creative faculty of experienced teachers, include Miyoung Kim (Artistic Director, Choreographer) and designed for students with a background in dance or drum.

Brief Description about Miyoung Kim Dance Company

Miyoung Kim has established herself as one of the leading figures in the Korean-Canadian cultural Scene as a dancer, choreographer, teacher and founder of the Korean Dance Studies Society of Canada in Toronto since 1979. She has been focusing her attention for teaching young Canadians and creating new works for more than 40 years which would open a new stage for multicultural Canadian dance history.

Eligibility requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent, or mature student statues
Minimum of two year of serious dance training
Must be at least 17 years of age
Traditional, folk and classical dance, drum
Performance, Technique, Improvisation, Creation

2006 Special Summer Intensive Program

This year, We will open special summer intensive programm for 10 Lessons (dance, drum seperately) each terms

First Term, 10 Sessions.

*. Dance: May 3th-July 5th (every Tuesday at 10:00a.m to 11:15a.m. for beginner)
*. Drum: May 4th-July 6th (every Wednsday at 10:00a.m to 11:15a.m.for beginner)

Second term, 10 Sessions.

*. Dance: July 19th-August 18th (every Tuesday and Thursday. 11:30a.m-12:45p.m.)
*. Drum: July 19th-August 18th (every Tuesday and Thursday. 10:00a.m-11:15a.m.)

The program schedule may be changed without  notice.
